Wine of Adjara
Steep valleys behind Batumi, an hour from the beach.
Most visitors to Adjara never leave the coast, which is a pity: the valleys inland climb fast, and the villages above Keda have been growing vines on wooden frames for centuries. The wines are light and low in alcohol by Georgian standards. For anyone spending a week in Batumi, this is the easiest half-day trip to a working family marani in the country.
