The family

The house is inside the old town walls, which means the marani is small, the qvevri are small, and the view from the terrace over the Alazani valley is the reason most people stay longer than they meant to.

Davit Tsereteli took over from his uncle in 2016 with four qvevri and has got as far as seven. He works a single hectare at Tibaani, twenty minutes down the hill, and makes one wine from it each year. He is candid that some vintages are better than others and will tell you which is which.
